Description: The montage shows the dynamics of gene expression over eight time classes in cleavage cycle 14 in the Drosophila melanogaster embryo. These data were acquired by in-situ hybridisation for endogenous giant mRNA (red) and a reporter-construct (blue) and simultaneous immunostaining for the Eve protein (green), necessary for time classification, as well as a nuclear counterstain (not shown).
